Description

Construction:

The principle lies in the interlocking of copper with steel wires to make recovery of copper both difficult and uneconomical.The product consists of a braided construction, consisting of electro- tin plated copper & galvanised steel wire.Due to this construction, the diameter of the product is larger than the conventional Copper equivalent.

For the earthing of Mini-Subs, Pylons, and also for bonding of joints on rail tracks for electrical locomotives.

The DC resistance and conductivity of these strands are in accordance to NRS 102:2014 (as a guide).

PVC Insulation operating temperatures: -5°C - + 70°C.

Supplied on wooden drums 300mtrs.

Application:

For the earthing of mini-Subs, Pylons, etc, and also for bonding of joints on rail tracks for electrical locomotives.PVC covered Kwena earth conductors are recommended for installations in areas with high humidity, salinity, corrosive environments or underground installations. For the thieves to identify the product, we recommend a clear or translucent PVC covered.

Conductor: In accordance to SANS 1411 Part 1
Class 2 Temperature range: - 5 to + 70°C
Insulation: General purpose PVC

Please Note:

The conductor has an equivalent resistance to that of its replacement copper conductor, i.e. 70 mm² earth copper conductor construction Cu 62.76 mm², EGSW: 53.44. The total cross section is 116.2 mm² . See DC resistance in technical spec sheet.

BARE Kwena cable should ONLY be used for indoor installation & MUST NOT be exposed to any kind of corrosive environment.
